The No Shirt No Shoes banditos are back home atop The Standard DTLA for Gringos N’ Flamingos May 18th
Impossible to count how many good times I’ve had and great people I’ve met on top of The Standard DTLA at our party No Shirt / No Shoes! This Saturday 9/15 we’re bringing everyone out for one last froth fest and would be so stoked to see you there too
So come out, get weird and froth out with the NS/NS myrts and mates for one hell of a last ride!!
It’s been a hot minute since No Shirt / No Shoes has been around and there couldn’t be a better time than this weekend. With the internet saying there’s going to be a heatwave this week, the pool at The Standard is the perfect place to cool off and vibe out. dF has been on the road for the past couple of weeks so we’re stoked to be back on home turf with Foam Magazine and Société Perrier. We’ll be having HisBoyElroy, Shae B. and Bones on the decks in addition to your NSNS locals, Surf Ambassador Hendo and Junkyard!
1PM – 7PM / 21+
Surf Ambassador Hendo
SEE YOU AT THE ROOFTOP!
We are back this Saturday for another round of the best pool party in LA!
June 2nd, 2012 will be forever be remembered as BIG Saturday. The conch shell had sounded. Tropicool dropped his favorite 1978 nudie mag, raced out of his Manhattan beach dwelling and headed east towards the holy pool in the sky. Hendo was awoken from his drunken slumber, stumbled out of Poseidon’s Palace to answer. The Bixel Boys dawned their tropo uniforms, snagged their cds and hit the road . . . for this was no ordinary calling . . . the conch shell had been sounded from the west.
This could only mean one thing. Our westside brethren were coming to No Shirt / No Shoes.
AMERICAN ROYALTY, having toured the US, played along side the biggest names in music, destroyed festival after festival, are joining the froth ranks with your rooftop locals and rip up the decks, i think this says it all.
But they also brought friends.
STEFFI GRAF, no, not the champion tennis player married to one of our fashion idols . . . but not far from that either. We’re talking about the steffi graf that’s rocked Pac Fest, opened for MSTRKFT as seen here
The creatively infused hooligans from Mindtai Present their first installment on the westside combining elements of Art & Music & Film all fucked into one awesome night. All vinyl sets, print, photography, and film work will all be displayed throughout the space.
Le∆f Story: Over a decade ago on the western shores of california, LEAF was born. The design firm began as a tight network of friends who produced film, photos, and clothing. Today a coalition of diverse minds, molded by carious concrete funnels, have formed a multi-medium design group. The four branches of LEAF: Film, architecture, clothing, and design has seamlessly formed a hybrid of visual art. From fin-art installations to feature films to graphic tees, LEAF’s interdisciplinary approach uses each section as an immediate influence over the other to create something more than just a brand, production company, or art collective.
LEAF is new and young, so please, watch a film, take a picture, and collaborate with us. Because no matter what, at the end of this sentence, YOU ARE WITH LEAF.
Tropicool and MazKarate will be bringing in their vast collection of vinyls and rarities to bring the funk back up from the roots & make your sister get down with her bad self.
$4 MindTai’s all night long (our more potent take on a MaiTai)

Tis the season to be frothing. Before we all head away back to our dwellings to celebrate the holiday season, dF along with the Société Perrier, The Ampal Party Posse, and the Handsome Coffee Roasters wanted to invited you to a special holiday celebration at The Pump Haus. At the Golden Gopher, your favorite summer time beach rats, No Shirt / No Shoes DJs, will be selecting the tunage and we’ll be celebrating the release of the long anticipated BIXEL COLLECTION X HANDSOME COFFEE Collaboration. So RSVP NOW.
Alright loons and goons, before you head off to the homelands for that twisted feast we all know and love, The Central S.A.P.C has a huge present to drop on you all. DFA’s own James Curd (Bond) will be throwing down all sorts of deep & disco to give you something to look forward to before that haggard slug fest at the airport the next day. Playing alongside the legend will be Gotta Dance Dirty’s own BONES, dubFrequency’s Bixel Boys and yours truly. The Central is a ripe joint for some pounding tunes of all sorts (rumors are flying of a Bixel Mariah Carey tribute set) and beer drenched trouble. So before you nurse your hangover with more booze on the home front, come have some with us down in Santa Monica!
As if this weekend couldn’t get any more massive, what with so many unreal shows just here in la, our good friends over at The Standard Downtown LA are throwing one more party before the weekend ends (and real halloween happens…wtf) with none other than aussie legends Bag Raiders!! No Shirt/No Shoes crew will be in full effect with sets from Bixel Boys and myself. Good friend Shae B. will also be throwing down the chunage!!
So myrts wipe off your Black Swan eye liner off and pull out that nurse outfit from freshman year and get on it! Gonna be a rad night up on the roof; cheap booze and great chunes to cap off one amazing weekend.
For anyone who won’t be making it hope, Standard will have rooms for the special discounted price of $129!!

No Shirt/No Shoes has a come a rumblin once again. It’s sweltering and the only relief is at The Standard Downtown LA this saturday for another addition of the tit-top pool party put on by mates dubFrequency, The Ampal Creative, De La Barracuda, Mind Tai & Société Perrier!
The official shout:
Think of your 4th of July as a warm up, a stretch, a conditioning jog to get in shape if you will; and the better news is that you still have a little over two weeks to get ready. Keep the weight down & the reps up because No Shirt / No Shoes is back on the roof.
*This time with Nu Disco swag surfer Viceroy who’s been the undisputed king of 2011 daytime jams remixing everyone from Ducksauce to Breakbot will by joining our ranks.
*We thought how could we spice things up for this bro-round? Summer’s in full effect, the hard bodies are out, and they must be getting fit somewhere. So we towel changed, whacked the sand off our feet and headed over to Melrose to ask our old friend Miguel De La Barracuda (DE LA BARRACUDA BOXING CLUB) to dust off the decks, break out the vinyl and bring his finest tunage to the party.
*It wasn’t enough, then we jumped in the 4-Runner, roll down rear window and all and headed south to Costa Mesa to pick up our buddy C-Town, peel him away from Mexican food grub-steppin, to bring his disco sensibility to the rooftop, and big brother these frothy folk.
*Not to mention family friend Burn Unit aka Matt Black, aka Matte Blaque, aka Kareem Swag-dul Hardi-har-har will be shaking off the house bangers for the day and blessing our waters with some tan-lined tunes.
*But you know it’s never a true party with out the residents of rooftop-rage Bixel Boys, Tropicool, SAH (Surf Ambassador Hendo), and the AMPAL Creative party squad.
*Midnight Surfer just added to the madness as well!
