I realize I barely post anymore and that, when i do, it’s generally the same artists I post. Thing is, they just consistanately catch my ear enough to drag up JYK from the dead and share.
Here’s Duke Dumonts amazing new single “Need U (100%)” another absolute blazer. 2012 truly has been the Year of The Duke
With a spotlight primed to shine on the Sydney band The Griswolds, its great to see them come out with an excellent upbeat ep.
From the lead single ‘The Courtship Of Summer Preasley’ to the delightful party-pop of ‘Heart of A Lion’ the sun glazed tracks show why they are true triple j gem. Rad good vibes and a bright future for this outfit
Following on the blinding success of Duke Dumont’s ‘The Giver’, Tiga brings his signature bounding tech sound to the track with excellent result.
Oh and have you heard Plush? please indulge
Just Kiddin really don’t get the kind of hype I think they deserve. Their twists on house, breaks, bass, tech and piano always create a buzz for me but never quite reverberates the way it should. Hoping this ep changes things for them, one of my favorite duo’s over the past couple years that just form a fun sound
The mate Felix aka Plastic Plates has another jumping remix for us all to enjoy. Taking on The Presets ‘Promises’ he puts his signature ‘try listneing to this without dancing’ bounce to the original, creating another stellar remix for us all to enjoy.
New Navy’s new single is just as inviting and perky as ever, with charming plucks and melodies. They make enjoying music easy
One of my more talented buds Austen, aka Viceroy, recently collaborated with Ghost Beach after a light night show in NYC. The result is the pulsing “While We Are In Love”, to be released very soon on The Knocks’ label. Its a toasty party jammer for these cold months and will immediately get you vibin. well done Vicerizzler!
One of the best discoveries I’ve made his month is the existance of an amazing music festival by the name of Austin Psych Fest. Not only is the line up spot on but they’ve got a label to boot. My new favorite is Austin’s own Shapes Have Fangs. Wild ripping guitars and rough vocals make for a real solid kick back. Check it below
Temples just shocked this frazzled ssummer shit brain back to life. “The Golden Throne” is a neo-psych ride in the spirit of everything you love to love. No point listing the bands they take influence from, you’ll know the second you hear..
they go and get even better with “Shelter Song”
Taste maker and compadre Tropicool has a refreshing new mix for us all to jam to. A mix of sun soaked haze and deep fall undertones, it’ll take you wherever you want to go
Stellar tracklist and it’s yours for free download!
